According to Nivo News, the decision was reached after a thorough evaluation process to ensure compliance with international best practices, where such cases are treated as rare exceptions rather than a standard rule.

JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, confirmed that the 85 candidates were deemed qualified after undergoing extensive scrutiny. “They have been duly informed to proceed to their respective institutions to complete their admission processes and print their JAMB admission letters,” he stated.

In the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), a total of 2,031,133 candidates applied for admission, out of which 41,027 sought special consideration under the underage category. From this number, 599 candidates who scored at least 80 percent in the UTME were subjected to further verification, including cross-checking of academic credentials and post-UTME performance.

After multiple evaluation stages, 182 candidates were shortlisted for interviews and documentation, but only 85 successfully met all requirements and were cleared for admission.

The Board advised those among the 182 finalists who missed the interview due to valid reasons to submit formal complaints through the JAMB Support Ticketing System under the category “2025 Underage Complaint.” It assured that such cases would be reviewed individually and treated strictly on merit.

Furthermore, JAMB announced a two-day grace period, ending Wednesday, October 29, 2025, for candidates who scored 320 and above in the UTME but were earlier disqualified for failing to upload their O-Level results to complete the process and notify the Board.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and academic integrity, JAMB reiterated that its admission process will continue to be credible, inclusive, and guided by standards that uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s tertiary education system.

Bwala spoke during an interview on Arise Television, where he addressed questions about the video and the current performance of the power sector under the Tinubu administration.

According to him, the administration has already begun implementing reforms in the power sector, including policy decisions and new legislative measures aimed at improving electricity supply.

He maintained that progress is ongoing and that the focus should be on what has been achieved so far rather than expectations for future electoral outcomes.

Bwala added that Nigerians will ultimately decide at the appropriate time whether the president deserves another term based on his overall performance.

He further argued that the electorate will make their judgment when the time comes, based on the results delivered by the administration.
