Tension In Kuje Prison As Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, Reportedly Collapses.
According to Nivo News, Aloy Ejimakor, the special counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reportedly collapsed inside Kuje Prison in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The incident was said to have occurred barely a day after the magistrate presiding over his case allegedly declined to sign his bail bond. Ejimakor and twelve others, including Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, were arrested by the police during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.
Reports revealed that the group was allegedly beaten, teargassed, and later transferred from the State CID to Kuje Prison on the order of Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id, who reportedly remanded them without their lawyer’s presence.
It was gathered that Ejimakor became weak and unable to sit or stand on Friday morning. Medical personnel at the Kuje Prison clinic are said to be attending to him, and there are concerns he might be moved to a hospital if his condition deteriorates further.
Ejimakor was arraigned alongside human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore. However, their bail process was reportedly stalled after the magistrate who granted the bail failed to sign the necessary documents.
Sources within the prison disclosed that Ejimakor’s health has continued to decline since his detention, while his legal team has allegedly been denied access to him since he collapsed.
