According to Nivo News, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has refuted allegations suggesting he is secretly directing the affairs of the Kano State Government or managing contracts on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview, Kwankwaso described the claims as baseless and unnecessary, noting that such speculations were borne out of mischief. He stated that the truth would eventually become evident to everyone, stressing that he has no need to respond to false accusations.

“Many people have conspired and said unpleasant things, claiming I’m the one steering the government or handling contracts. With time and patience, people will see for themselves who is truly in charge,” he said.

The former governor emphasized that Governor Yusuf was carefully chosen for the position and remains firmly in control of his administration. “Since the 2019 elections, we searched carefully and found him to be the best candidate. Allah has now blessed him with leadership, and he is doing his work diligently. We have given him full space to lead,” Kwankwaso added.

He explained that his role in the current government is limited to offering guidance when requested. “Our position is simple — if he seeks our advice, we will gladly provide it. And if we observe anything that needs attention, we will point it out constructively,” he said.

Kwankwaso also dismissed rumours of a leadership crisis within the NNPP, describing those behind such claims as “not genuine politicians.” He clarified that the party remains united and legally recognised. “They have taken us to court countless times without success. They are even using an old logo. These are not real politicians. Check the INEC portal to see who is truly recognised,” he asserted.

Speaking on the proposed amendment to the Electoral Act by the National Assembly, which seeks to hold presidential and governorship elections six months before the expiration of incumbents’ tenure, Kwankwaso said he had no objections. “If they are ready, we are ready. Let the election hold anytime — November, February, or tomorrow — once proper notice is given to mobilise our supporters,” he said.

The NNPP leader further maintained that his party has continued to grow stronger despite being relatively new, adding that its performance in the last general elections proved its influence. “The truth is, the youths are now more politically conscious. Those who think they will defeat us will be shocked,” Kwankwaso declared.

In his keynote address, Momoh described the gathering as a strategic effort to strengthen collaboration between the ministry and regional commissions in line with the development agenda of President Bola Tinubu. He stressed that although the commissions have different regional mandates, they must work towards a shared national goal of inclusive and sustainable development.

Highlighting existing challenges, the minister pointed to issues such as project duplication, abandoned initiatives, and rivalry among agencies. He said the government would prioritise better coordination and accountability to improve results.

Momoh also announced plans to focus on completing ongoing projects before initiating new ones and revealed that performance bonds would be introduced for commission leaders to ensure efficiency and transparency.

According to him, key focus areas include infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, digital connectivity, security, and empowerment for youths and women, all aligned with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister added that development efforts must remain people-focused, inclusive, and result-driven, with active stakeholder engagement at every stage.

The retreat is expected to produce practical strategies that will enhance collaboration among regional bodies and improve development outcomes across the country.

According to the source, the twins maintained a daily routine of speaking around midnight, but the conversation took a sudden turn that night when unusual activity was noticed at the General’s end.

He said the line went dead abruptly after the General paused during the call, apparently due to the unfolding situation at the base.

The twin brother reportedly made repeated attempts to reconnect, sending messages and calling continuously, but received no response throughout the night.

“He kept trying until about 4 am, but there was no answer,” the source said.

The relative described the incident as devastating, noting that communication had broken down during the assault.

The late General was later buried alongside other fallen soldiers in Maiduguri, Borno State.
