The endorsement took place during a vibrant gathering at the Cenotaph in Asaba, which drew representatives from all 25 local government areas of Delta State. The event, themed “Touching the Grassroots,” showcased the women’s resolve to sustain and amplify the developmental strides of Governor Oborevwori under his MORE Agenda.
National Coordinator of ULF, Dame Nkem Patience Okwuofu, highlighted the group’s mission to strengthen grassroots political participation and empowerment. She noted that the organization’s outreach extends to young girls, farmers, artisans, and businesswomen — the “heartbeat” of Delta communities. Okwuofu praised Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for championing inclusive governance and community development, urging women to participate actively in government programmes and voter education initiatives.
Representing the wife of the governor, Mrs. Ewoma Erijo commended the women’s unity and pledged continued support from the Office of the First Lady.
Also addressing the gathering, the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, applauded the women’s commitment to political engagement and grassroots development. He encouraged them to ensure that government interventions reach the intended beneficiaries, emphasizing their critical role in driving the state’s progress.
The event climaxed with a motion of confidence moved by Princess Pat and seconded by Irene Imilar, reaffirming the group’s endorsement of both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. The women vowed to mobilize massive grassroots support to ensure their re-election in 2027, declaring that the duo’s achievements have earned them an unopposed return to power.
