2027 Will Favour Peter Obi, Not 2023 — Aisha Yesufu Boldly Predicts.

Prominent human rights advocate and social crusader, Aisha Yesufu, has declared that Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stands a far better chance of winning the 2027 general election than he did in 2023.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State, during an interactive session with journalists at the Girls’ Summit organised by the Protect The Precious Foundation, Yesufu expressed confidence that the growing support for Obi across the country has strengthened his political momentum ahead of 2027.

According to Nivo News, the activist noted that many Nigerians who were initially sceptical about Obi’s message have now embraced his ideology, recognizing the integrity and consistency he represents.

“Peter Obi has more hope in 2027 than in 2023. Back then, people mocked him, saying only four persons were tweeting for him. Yet despite the rigging that took place, he garnered over six million votes and even won without a single councillor,” she stated.

Yesufu added that Obi’s followership has significantly expanded, attributing it to increased political awareness among Nigerians who now better understand his vision for good governance. She urged citizens to ensure their votes count, insisting that true change would only come when Nigerians defend their mandate.

“When you vote, make sure your vote is counted and recorded for your candidate. Otherwise, it’s just an exercise in futility,” she advised.

On the issue of electoral integrity, Yesufu said she had no expectations from the newly appointed INEC Chairman-designate, arguing that the challenge lies not in the institution but in the individuals who manipulate the system.

“I don’t have any task for him because even the President that appointed him shouldn’t be there in the first place. The problem isn’t INEC, it’s the people working there — our brothers, sisters, and relatives. We must ensure they refuse bribes and resist manipulation,” she said.

The activist lamented the absence of meaningful electoral reforms as the nation approaches 2027, describing the next election as a decisive battle for Nigeria’s survival.

“Nothing has been done to reform the process. Nigerians must understand that 2027 is a fight for our lives,” she warned.

Addressing Nigeria’s broader challenges, Yesufu dismissed the belief that the country’s woes are spiritual, asserting that bad governance, corruption, and poor leadership are the true causes of the nation’s suffering.

“People are dying from bad policies and corruption, not witchcraft. What we need is competent, selfless leaders with character and capacity,” she said.

On advocacy for the girl child, Yesufu condemned the continuous neglect of girls’ rights and welfare in Nigeria, calling for stronger laws and stricter punishments for gender-based violence.

“We must criminalize rape, punish offenders, and empower victims to speak out. Rape can be eradicated if treated as a serious crime, not brushed aside as it often is,” she asserted.

According to him, the combined pressure from security forces, supported by the state government and the Inspector-General of Police, led to the successful outcome of the operation.

Emenari further disclosed that eight suspects are currently in custody, adding that seven of them are strongly linked to the kidnapping incident, with some victims already identifying them.
