AY Comedian Exposes Fake Lives of Influencers, Warns Nigerians Against Social Media Illusions.

Published

on

Popular comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has advised Nigerians to avoid falling for the deceptive glamour often displayed on social media, describing much of it as an illusion far removed from reality.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, AY shared the caution in a recent Instagram video, noting that many online users compare themselves to what they see on social platforms without realising that much of it is staged. He explained that the digital space is filled with exaggerated portrayals of luxury, success, and happiness, often crafted to impress followers rather than reflect the truth.

AY revealed that several influencers and content creators fabricate their lifestyles—borrowing outfits, taking pictures in hotel lobbies to pass off as homes, or posing beside cars they do not own. He likened social media to a movie set where everything appears glamorous, but little of it is real.

“Many of these people you envy are living on borrowed wigs, borrowed outfits, and borrowed lifestyles. Some take pictures in hotel lobbies and call them their new homes, while others pose with cars that don’t belong to them. Social media is like a movie set; not everything you see online is real,” AY said.

He further urged his followers to focus on personal growth, peace of mind, and authenticity rather than seeking validation from online comparisons. The entertainer stressed that what people often see are the highlights, not the hard work or challenges behind the scenes.

“Social media pressure is real. Too many people are trying to keep up with lives that don’t even exist. You see the highlights but not the hustle, the smiles but not the struggles. Remember, peace of mind is greater than online validation. Live your truth, not the filtered version of someone else’s,” he added.

AY concluded by encouraging Nigerians to embrace contentment, grow at their own pace, and stay true to themselves despite the pressures of the digital age.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
