The Archbishop of Ibadan Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Most Rev. (Dr) Williams Aladekugbe, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its remarkable strides in improving food security and reducing the cost of staple food items across the country.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking during a special service to commemorate the World Food Day Celebration and the Joint Women’s Organization’s Annual Conference Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, on Sunday, Archbishop Aladekugbe acknowledged that noticeable price reductions have been observed in major food commodities such as rice and other essentials.
According to Nivo News, the cleric praised the government’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the naira, describing them as yielding visible results. He noted that the recent improvements in the food sector were encouraging signs of progress in the government’s economic policies.
However, Archbishop Aladekugbe urged Nigerians to contribute to sustaining food security by engaging in agricultural practices to strengthen the nation’s economy. “To achieve lasting food security, all hands must be on deck. Everyone should participate in agricultural ventures that can help build our economy,” he said.
In his address, Oyo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, revealed that the state government has slashed tractor hiring fees by 50 percent and introduced heavy subsidies on farming inputs to support local farmers and boost food production.
He expressed gratitude to the clergy and members of the Diocese for their consistent prayers and support towards the success of the state government’s agricultural initiatives.
Addressing the theme of the Women’s Conference, “Fitness for God’s Kingdom,” Archbishop Aladekugbe urged believers to prioritize spiritual discipline over material pursuits. He warned against distractions, greed, and moral decay, calling on Christians to strengthen their faith through prayer, worship, and studying the Word of God.
Presenting the communiqué at the end of the event, Mrs. Catherine Aladekugbe, President of the Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Women and Girls Organization, encouraged Nigerians to shun evil and live righteously, assuring that faithfulness to God brings blessings both now and in eternity.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Oyo State Permanent Secretaries Mrs. Abosede Owoeye and Dr. Kola Badmus, General Manager of the Oyo State Printing Press Mr. Victor Muyiwa Kayode, and several association leaders, clergy members, and traditional rulers.

-
Ignorance as the Main Opponent: When asked to name his primary political rival, Sowore explicitly pointed to ignorance as his greatest obstacle.
-
Systemic Educational Failure: He attributed this issue to a weakened national education system, which he believes hinders citizens from developing the critical thinking skills necessary to engage deeply with national issues.
-
The Role of Informed Decisions: While he dismissed the idea that money is the ultimate deciding factor in elections, he acknowledged that poverty and a lack of political awareness prevent many voters from consistently making informed choices.
-

This interview was conducted prior to his current detention at the Kuje Correctional Centre, with clips subsequently shared on his official Facebook page.

THE END OF NDC? Confidential Court Judgment On De-registration Goes Public!.
The Federal High Court in Lokoja has nullified its own judgment from December 10, 2025, which had previously directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). In a ruling delivered last Friday by Justice Isa H. Dashen, the court granted an application filed by the Peace Movement Party (PMP) to set aside the earlier decision.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Key Details of the Court’s Ruling:
-
Basis for Nullification: The court determined that the original proceedings were constitutionally defective because the PMP—which claimed prior interest in the “two-finger victory” logo used by the NDC—was not joined as a party to the initial lawsuit.
-
Denial of Fair Hearing: The presiding judge held that failing to hear the PMP, whose substantial and legally recognizable interests were directly affected by the orders made, constituted a breach of fair hearing.
-
Legal Authority: The court clarified that this action was not an appeal of its own merits, but an exercise of its inherent jurisdiction to set aside a judgment obtained in violation of the constitutional right to be heard (audi alteram partem).
-
Procedural Outcome: With the December 10, 2025, judgment set aside, the case (Suit No. FHC/LKI/CS/49/2025) has been returned to its pre-judgment stage, allowing parties to pursue further procedural steps.
