According to Nivo News, the ex-Inter Milan and AC Milan defender met with the team at the airport before their departure, where he delivered an inspiring pep talk to motivate the young players ahead of the global tournament.

“You girls have great potential. Stay united, follow your coaches’ guidance, and play with one heart. If you do that, you can go far and even grow into the future Super Falcons,” West was quoted as saying.

He advised the team to pay attention to tactical instructions and remain disciplined both on and off the pitch, stressing that success at the world stage would be determined by teamwork and mental focus. West also expressed strong belief in the team’s talent, predicting that several players from the current squad could progress to the senior national team, the Super Falcons, in the future.

The Flamingos departed Abuja on Wednesday morning and arrived in Casablanca after a smooth four-hour, twenty-minute flight. Upon arrival, the team checked into the Ibis Hotel, Casablanca, before holding a light training session to shake off travel fatigue.

While in Morocco, the Nigerian girls will play two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Paraguay as part of their final preparations for the tournament.

Drawn in Group D alongside Canada, France, and Samoa, the Flamingos will begin their World Cup campaign on October 17. The team has been in outstanding form, scoring 44 goals and conceding none in ten preparatory games — a performance that has boosted confidence within the camp ahead of the competition.

  • Edo State: Requested authorization and payment fees amounting to thousands of dollars per participant for an upcoming international engagement in Bahrain, directing funds into designated commercial bank accounts.

  • Nasarawa State: Sought backing to host a national stakeholders’ meeting in Lafia aimed at formally launching its nationwide executive structure.

  • Ondo State: Reached out to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to demand physical land allocations for a proposed “Made in Nigeria Product Market” hub.

  • Imo State: Invited Governor Hope Uzodimma as a special guest while concurrently requesting financial contributions to cover logistics, accommodation, and conference expenses.
