‘Crisis Over, Hope Renewed’: Oyo APC Chairman Speaks On Party’s Revival.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Alhaji Olayide Abas, has declared that the prolonged internal crisis plaguing the party is finally coming to an end. He expressed optimism that the renewed commitment among stakeholders will pave the way for a more united and formidable political front capable of reclaiming power in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, Abas made this known while addressing party members at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan. He noted that disputes are normal within any human organisation, explaining that such conflicts often arise from competition and varying interests. However, he stressed that true leadership is measured by the ability to manage and resolve such issues effectively, a quality that determines the growth and stability of any political institution.
“In Oyo APC today, we have gone through a lot in the last seven or eight years, and the beautiful thing now is that we’ve reached a point where virtually everyone is saying ‘enough is enough’,” Abas stated.
He revealed that the recently held Leadership Summit reflected a renewed sense of hope and unity within the party. The event, which drew prominent party figures and stakeholders across Oyo State, marked what he described as “a new beginning filled with promise and progress.”
Abas also commended key figures such as Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Chief Akin Oke, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Senator Brimo Yusuf, and Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, alongside the Peace Advocates—a group of respected APC leaders—for their pivotal role in the success of the summit. He said their collective efforts had rekindled the spirit of love, cooperation, and service within the party.
The APC chairman added that several reconciliation initiatives launched since his assumption of office late last year have begun yielding visible results. He disclosed that the next step would be the creation of an Implementation Committee to act on resolutions from the summit and the organisation of an expanded stakeholders’ meeting to bring everyone fully on board.
Abas concluded by reaffirming his confidence that the new wave of unity would restore the party’s strength and position it for victory in upcoming elections.
