In a condolence statement issued by its President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, NANS described Maduagwu as more than just a media professional, portraying her as a beacon of hope and a role model to many young Nigerians, particularly students who drew inspiration from her eloquence, courage, and unwavering dedication to truth and professionalism.

According to Nivo News, Oladoja noted that her untimely passing has left an irreplaceable void in the media industry and in the hearts of students across the nation. He praised her brilliance, work ethic, and passion for nation-building through responsible journalism, emphasizing that her contributions had inspired many within and beyond the academic community.

“The loss of such a vibrant and promising young woman is truly a national tragedy,” the statement read, as NANS joined her family, colleagues, and the Arise Television team in mourning her demise.

On behalf of the Nigerian student body, the association extended condolences to her family, the management of Arise Television, and the wider media fraternity, praying for strength and comfort in this period of grief.

Oladoja added that although Somtochukwu is no longer physically present, her impact and legacy will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the standards of excellence she embodied in journalism.
