Participants are required to mention the teacher’s name, school, tag Wema Bank, and include the hashtags #WemaAt80TeachersDay and #TeachersWithALegacyOfImpact.

Wema Bank’s Managing Director, Moruf Oseni, described teachers as “the quiet architects of every nation’s future,” adding that their sacrifices and resilience have produced generations of leaders and innovators. He noted that the challenge is the Bank’s way of celebrating these educators beyond words, by spotlighting their legacies and ensuring they receive due recognition.

The initiative, which has rewarded 10 outstanding teachers with over N13 million in the last two years, will again shortlist 10 teachers from this year’s entries. Three winners will receive significant cash prizes, while two others will be honoured with special gifts.

Head of Corporate Sustainability, Abimbola Agbejule, explained that this year’s edition is particularly symbolic as it coincides with Wema Bank’s 80th anniversary, a milestone reflecting the Bank’s enduring commitment to education and community empowerment. She emphasised that the challenge is not merely about financial rewards but about sparking gratitude, storytelling, and public appreciation for educators who continue to shape Nigeria’s future.

By celebrating teachers at every level—primary, secondary, and tertiary—Wema Bank reinforces its own legacy of supporting education, sustainability, and national development.
