According to Nivo News, the Defence Headquarters has confirmed that 16 military officers are set to face disciplinary measures over alleged misconduct and breaches of service regulations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Military High Command disclosed that the officers have already been arrested, and investigations are underway to establish the extent of their offences.

Findings from preliminary inquiries suggest that most of the officers’ grievances were linked to perceived stagnation in their careers, particularly following repeated failures in promotion examinations, among other factors.

The statement further noted that some of the officers had long been under military jurisdiction, either awaiting trial or already undergoing disciplinary processes for other infractions. Their conduct, according to the military authorities, was deemed inconsistent with the standards and values expected of military service.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, those found culpable will face the full weight of the military disciplinary system in line with established procedures. The DHQ stressed that this step is necessary to uphold accountability and preserve professionalism within the Armed Forces.

While assuring the public that the action is strictly disciplinary and aimed at maintaining order and loyalty, the military leadership reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will not condone any behaviour that undermines the institution’s integrity or threatens its constitutional role in a democratic society.

The Defence Headquarters reiterated its unwavering commitment to professionalism and its constitutional duties, vowing to safeguard discipline within its ranks at all times.
