At a peace-walk in Lagos to commemorate the occasion, the National Coordinator of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-To-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, lauded the President for sustaining the vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers. According to him, the nation’s journey embodies sacrifice, courage, and determination that continue to inspire citizens across generations.
“As we celebrate 65 years of independence, we remember the sacrifices of our heroes who sowed the seeds of freedom so that future generations could inherit a land of dignity and opportunity,” Asuku stated. He described Nigeria as the “heartbeat of Africa,” a nation of resilience, diversity, and cultural richness, destined for greatness.
He commended the resilience of Nigerians across all walks of life—from farmers to innovators, from the youth to the elders—saying their collective spirit continues to uplift the country. Asuku further praised President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a force rekindling faith in a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement, under the leadership of Dr. Government Ekpemupolo (popularly known as Tompolo), reaffirmed its commitment to spreading the message of unity, hope, and development to every household across the country. Asuku emphasized that the real strength of Nigeria lies not only in its leaders but in the will of its people to build, endure, and triumph.
He also acknowledged the efforts of state governors, whose tireless work at the grassroots level, he said, ensures that the “labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain.”
“As we renew our faith in Nigeria, we pray for peace, divine wisdom for our leaders, economic prosperity, national security, and unity in diversity. Despite our challenges, our destiny as a nation is certain,” he said, calling on Nigerians at home and abroad to remain steadfast in their commitment to the country’s progress.
