  • Expenditure & Deficit: Total expenditure was ₦34.49 trillion (close to the ₦35.06 trillion estimate). However, the revenue shortfall widened the fiscal deficit to ₦13.51 trillion, which is ₦4.34 trillion higher than projected.

  • Debt Servicing & Public Debt: Total debt expenditure surged to ₦12.36 trillion (exceeding the budgeted ₦8.27 trillion by 52.71%). By December 2024, Nigeria’s total public debt climbed to ₦144.67 trillion, pushing the debt-to-GDP ratio to 61.22%.
