The commissioning ceremony drew the presence of traditional rulers, government representatives, community leaders, and residents, who described the project as a turning point in the quest to uplift educational standards.

Speaking at the event, the National President of NBM of Africa, Dr. Charles Chimezie, emphasized that the project went beyond structural refurbishment, symbolizing a promise of opportunity and recognition for the children of Agbowhiame.

“This is more than a renovated building. It is a declaration that every child matters, every dream counts, and that the future of Agbowhiame pupils is valid,” he stated.

Dr. Chimezie noted that the gesture aligns with the movement’s consistent humanitarian outreach, recalling its relief interventions during floods in Nigeria, aid to displaced people in Okuama community, and donations in Borno State. He listed the newly provided facilities for the school to include 125 desks, 150 uniforms, 500 notebooks, new roofs and ceilings, replacement of doors and windows, as well as complete flooring and painting of classrooms and surroundings.

The Delta State Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Samuel Mariere, lauded the initiative, describing it as a worthy complement to the state government’s MORE Agenda under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, which prioritizes educational and infrastructural development. Represented by Mr. Simon Akpogherhe, he assured the school that its additional requests, including fencing and improved learning resources, would be presented to the Board for prompt consideration.

President-General of Agbowhiame Community, Mr. Emmanuel Osieta, expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that the renovated classrooms would inspire ambition and belonging among pupils. Similarly, Ughelli South Local Government Chairman, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Happy Mukoro, applauded the project as timely and complementary to the state’s educational objectives.

The Head Teacher, Mr. Jacob Emakpor, recalled the dilapidated state of the school before the intervention and appealed for more support in fencing, potable water supply, and teacher recruitment.

Community leaders, including Chief (Mrs.) Maria Boro, as well as dignitaries such as Hon. Festus Utuama of the Delta State House of Assembly and Olorogun Johnson Boro, also praised NBM for its enduring service to humanity and urged the movement to sustain its community development initiatives.

The event ended on a celebratory note as pupils, parents, and residents sang songs of joy, embracing their renovated school as a renewed symbol of pride and hope for future generations.

The match began with an immediate impact from Arsenal, as Kai Havertz capitalized on a pass from Leandro Trossard to put the London club ahead within the first six minutes. Arsenal maintained their lead for much of the first half, successfully frustrating the French champions.

The momentum shifted in the 63rd minute when a VAR review resulted in a penalty for PSG. Ousmane Dembélé stepped up to the spot and converted two minutes later, bringing the score level at 1-1. Despite intense efforts from both sides during the remainder of regulation and throughout extra time, neither team could find a winning goal.

The title was ultimately decided by penalties. In the shootout, PSG held their nerve, with Lucas Beraldo converting their final spot-kick. With Arsenal needing to score to force sudden death, defender Gabriel Magalhães sent his effort over the bar, sealing a 4-3 victory for the French side.

This triumph marks a historic achievement for PSG, who become the first French club to win the UEFA Champions League title in two consecutive seasons, having defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in the 2025 final.
