‘Premier League Is Less Tactical’ – Bradley Barcola Makes Bold Claim About English Football/
Liverpool forward Bradley Barcola has described the English Premier League as “less tactical” than France’s Ligue 1, pointing to differences in tactical organisation and players’ positional responsibilities in the two competitions.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
News reports that the French international joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during the summer transfer window in a deal reportedly worth up to €140 million. He has since made eight appearances for the Merseyside club across all competitions.
Barcola recorded his first goals for Liverpool with a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory over LASK, marking the first treble of his professional career. However, the forward is yet to score in the Premier League, despite coming close during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday.
Speaking on the French television programme Téléfoot before the Brentford encounter, Barcola discussed the differences between Liverpool’s playing style and the tactical system he experienced at PSG under manager Luis Enrique.
The Frenchman explained that adapting to Liverpool’s approach had required adjustments, particularly because he considered the Premier League less tactically demanding than the system he previously played under.
“I am trying to adapt because it is very different to Paris Saint-Germain. The Premier League? It is different. I find that it is less tactical. In any case, we (PSG) had a very, very tactical manager (Luis Enrique), but I find that it is less tactical; there are fewer changes on the pitch,” Barcola said.
He further explained that his role at PSG involved frequent positional rotations, allowing teammates to move into different areas while maintaining the team’s attacking structure.
According to the forward, Luis Enrique’s system often required him to move inside from the wing and make room for another player to occupy his position.
“It is true that, with my former manager, I had to come inside, play down the wing, and someone else would then take my position. Here, it is very different,” he told Téléfoot.
Under Enrique, PSG players were regularly expected to interchange positions during matches to create spaces, disrupt opposition defences and preserve attacking balance.
Barcola’s comments suggest that Liverpool’s approach presents a different tactical environment as he continues to adjust to English football.
Barcola Highlights Premier League’s Physical Demands
Beyond tactical differences, the Liverpool forward has also spoken about the physical demands of competing in England.
In a previous interview with Sky Sports, Barcola said Ligue 1 had “a lot more strong (physical) players”.
He also highlighted the greater running demands associated with the Premier League, linking the increased workload to cramps he has experienced towards the closing stages of matches this season.
The forward’s remarks underline the adjustments he is making as he adapts to a new league, playing style and set of responsibilities at Liverpool.

Osimhen Under Fire As Former Galatasaray Striker Criticises His Body Language.
Former Galatasaray striker Necati Ateş has expressed displeasure with Victor Osimhen’s body language following the Turkish club’s 1-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği on Saturday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Osimhen featured for the entire 90 minutes but failed to score or register an assist, bringing an end to his streak of contributing a goal in every appearance this season.
Speaking on the Spor Gecesi Digital YouTube channel, Ateş questioned the Nigerian striker’s attitude when he fails to find the back of the net, suggesting that his strong desire to score influences his behaviour on the pitch.
“I don’t like Osimhen’s body language. When Osimhen doesn’t score, he switches to a different version of himself because he thrives on goals,” Ateş was quoted as saying by Habersarikirmizi.
The former forward also criticised Osimhen’s decision-making during an attacking move in which he could have created an opportunity for teammate Deniz Gül to score into an unguarded net.
Although Ateş acknowledged that Osimhen did not deliberately prevent Gül from getting the scoring opportunity, he maintained that the Nigerian made the wrong decision with his pass.
“He didn’t pass to Deniz Gül so he could score into an empty net. He didn’t pass to Deniz; he passed to Batrakov. It wasn’t intentional, but his choice was wrong,” he added.
Despite the criticism, Osimhen continues to play a significant role in Galatasaray’s attacking setup. The Nigerian international has recorded six goals and three assists since the start of the campaign.

Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council Sparks Tension As Wike, Adeleke, Soludo Get Key Roles.
The appointment of prominent opposition politicians to President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign council has reportedly generated discontent within the All Progressives Congress (APC), while raising concerns among opposition candidates about the possible impact of the alliances on their electoral chances.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
News reports that some APC members have expressed dissatisfaction over what they see as the sidelining of long-standing party loyalists in favour of politicians from rival political parties.
At the same time, opposition candidates are reportedly concerned about how their party leaders can support Tinubu’s re-election campaign without undermining their own candidates contesting for seats in the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly.
The concerns followed Tuesday’s announcement of the expanded Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, which appointed Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike as campaign coordinators.
Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was assigned to coordinate the campaign in Anambra State, while Adeleke, who won the Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was named coordinator for Osun.
Wike, a prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figure, was appointed to oversee the campaign in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory.
The appointments have reportedly unsettled some senior APC members, who warned that assigning key campaign responsibilities to opposition politicians could weaken the party’s internal structures and reduce members’ enthusiasm ahead of the elections.
Speaking to Sunday PUNCH on condition of anonymity, some party sources said the arrangement had caused concern among stakeholders in Osun, Rivers and Anambra states, where some APC loyalists reportedly felt overlooked despite their years of support for Tinubu and the party.
One source claimed that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, was unhappy with the decision to appoint Adeleke, a member of the Accord Party, as the President’s campaign coordinator in Osun.
The source said the decision had generated resentment among party members who believed Oyetola should have been given the responsibility as a prominent APC leader in the state.
The source stated that similar concerns had emerged in Rivers State, where Wike was appointed campaign coordinator instead of the state governor.
The situation in Anambra was also said to have raised questions among APC members who had supported Tinubu over the years but were concerned about the appointment of Soludo, who belongs to APGA.
According to the source, the dissatisfaction extends beyond the appointments themselves, with some party members believing that opposition figures are receiving greater recognition at the expense of APC loyalists.
The source warned that the development could weaken morale and reduce the willingness of some members to actively participate in the President’s re-election campaign.
The source added that uncertainty remained over how the affected party members would work with the newly appointed coordinators.
Another APC source expressed concern that the arrangement could undermine grassroots mobilisation if disgruntled members decided not to participate fully in campaign activities.
The source noted that party loyalists who had hoped to secure positions on the campaign council could feel disappointed by the decision to assign such responsibilities to politicians who do not belong to the APC.
The source urged Tinubu and other party leaders to address the concerns and harmonise the arrangement to prevent internal dissatisfaction from affecting the campaign.
The source warned that if aggrieved members chose to remain on the sidelines rather than actively support the President’s re-election bid, the decision could have consequences for the party’s campaign efforts.
