The Federal Government has unveiled a bold industrial roadmap aimed at more than doubling the sector’s contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) within the next decade, targeting an increase from the current 10 percent to 25 percent by 2035.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan, announced the plan at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference in Milan, describing it as a defining milestone of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to Nivo News, the framework marks a decisive shift from a resource-dependent economy to a competitive, innovation-driven industrial hub.

Speaking at the event, Owan noted that this was the first time in decades that Nigeria had adopted such a comprehensive industrial strategy, stressing that it would reshape the nation’s growth trajectory. He credited President Tinubu’s early reforms—such as fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification—with stabilising the economy and creating the foundation for sustainable investment.

“With reforms in motion and new frameworks validated, the next decade will be defined by industrial expansion, energy optimisation, and global partnerships,” he stated.

Owan further disclosed that the government had endorsed the Nigeria Industrial Policy (NIP), designed to drive inclusive growth, create jobs, and enhance competitiveness. He explained that the policy was developed through extensive consultations with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), academia, labour unions, development partners, and small businesses.

He emphasised that successful implementation would be crucial, cautioning that policies, no matter how well-designed, only transform nations when backed by measurable execution.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Lirr Bajar community, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed the development in a statement, explaining that police operatives rescued the suspect from an angry mob that was threatening to lynch her.

According to the police, the incident began when Fatima and her 30-year-old husband, whose marriage was barely a few months old, engaged in an argument over money, wrappers and a mobile phone she claimed belonged to her.

The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach.

In the statement, the police spokesperson described how the domestic dispute turned violent.

“On 25th October, 2026, at about 0600hrs, what started as a heated argument between husband and wife in Lirr Bajar, Dass LGA, turned bloody,” the statement read.

Habib explained that Fatima had confronted her husband over the items she claimed he was keeping in his possession, but the disagreement soon escalated.

“Words failed. Tempers flared. The argument turned into a physical fight.

“In a moment of rage and desperation, Fatima reached for a knife lying close by and stabbed her husband in the stomach,” the statement added.

The victim reportedly collapsed and began bleeding, prompting residents to gather at the scene. An angry mob allegedly threatened to attack the suspect before officers from the Dass Divisional Police Headquarters arrived.

The police rescued Fatima from the mob and rushed her injured husband to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

The command confirmed that the suspect had been detained and the knife allegedly used in the incident recovered.

According to the statement, the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further investigation.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed concern over cases of domestic violence involving young couples.

He urged couples to resolve disagreements through peaceful dialogue and seek the intervention of family members, elders or lawful authorities instead of resorting to violence.

“A moment of anger can destroy two lives forever. We urge couples to seek peaceful means, through family, elders and lawful channels, instead of resorting to violence,” the commissioner advised.

Aliyu also cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands, stressing that the command remained committed to ensuring that justice was served professionally and humanely.

Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has criticised Nigerian hookup girls over what she described as their lack of effort in their appearance compared to women in the same industry in other countries.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a video circulating online, the reality TV star recounted her recent visit to Kenya, where she observed that women involved in the adult lifestyle industry paid greater attention to their clothing, makeup and overall presentation.

Appealing to Nigerian hookup girls to improve their appearance, Phyna said they were not taking their work seriously enough.

“I want to beg our hookup girls. I’m on my knees. You girls are not even taking this your job serious,” she said.

Phyna specifically mentioned areas around Orchid Road and Farm City in Lagos, claiming that some women barely make an effort to dress up before going out to meet clients.

According to her, some of them wear casual outfits and slippers without bothering to apply makeup or lip gloss.

“You just wear clothes as if you are going to buy a recharge card. They are wearing slippers. They’re wearing just one kind gown like that. No makeup, no lip gloss,” she complained.

The reality TV star also questioned why some hookup girls reportedly become upset when clients offer them low amounts, despite what she described as their lack of effort in preparing their appearance.

She urged them to pay more attention to their looks by dressing attractively, wearing heels and applying makeup before going out.

Phyna further encouraged the women to improve their overall presentation, suggesting that simple additions such as coordinated lip makeup and appropriate footwear could make a difference.

“At least, try and do lip combo. People just wear the wig, wear your clothes like that, wear bedroom slippers and stand on the road,” she added.

Comparing her observations in Kenya with what she had seen in Nigeria, Phyna maintained that the women she encountered abroad appeared more deliberate about their appearance.

She urged their Nigerian counterparts to put more effort into their dressing and presentation.

Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove the Minister of Works, David Umahi, from his position.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Chief Priest made the demand in a post shared on his Instagram page, where he criticised Umahi’s performance and questioned the benefits the Southeast region had gained from having one of its own head the Federal Ministry of Works.

The socialite described Umahi as one of the worst ministers the region had produced, arguing that his appointment had not translated into significant benefits for the Igbo people.

He also criticised another minister from Imo State, whom he described as the worst minister the Southeast had ever produced.

According to Chief Priest, both ministers have failed to create meaningful opportunities for the people of the region despite occupying influential positions in the Federal Government.

Urging Tinubu to replace the ministers, the socialite questioned their contributions to the region and their ability to mobilise political support for the President.

He wrote: “Always blabbing, The second to worst minister southeast ever had. We have nothing to show for it as a region that had minister of works. the worst minister na my sister from imo state that one na fluke of a minister. Asiwaju you gats change these failures of ministers for us, the one from my state can’t even get 1k votes for Asiwaju.

“Nobody for our state even know say we once had minister of finance, minister of trade & investment but Igbos no even see any opportunity, Minister Wey Dey beg to call meeting for am that one fit get vote. No Impact no level na boys just use mama cash out.”

Chief Priest’s comments centred on what he described as the failure of some Southeast ministers to deliver tangible benefits to their constituents, despite their positions in the current administration.

He maintained that the region had yet to see sufficient opportunities or meaningful results from the appointments, urging Tinubu to reconsider the performance of the affected ministers.
