In France, Moses Simon showcased his quality for newly promoted Paris FC, playing the entire match and scoring in the 67th minute to help secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Metz at the Stade Jean-Bouin. The Super Eagles winger also provided an assist before making way for Nouha Dicko late in the game. The result marked Paris FC’s first league win of the season and Simon’s second Ligue 1 goal, following his strike in last week’s 5-2 defeat to Olympique Marseille.

In Turkey, Paul Onuachu continued his fine scoring form for Trabzonspor by netting the opener in the 16th minute against their local rivals. The goal underlined the striker’s instinctive finishing ability, building on his impressive record of 17 goals from a previous loan spell with the club.

Also in Turkey, Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray claimed a 3-1 victory over Rizespor on August 30. Osimhen restored his side’s advantage after Dal Varesanovic had pulled the visitors level, while Mauro Icardi sealed the win in stoppage time for the defending champions.
