“What Did You Do In Office? – Gov Idris Blasts Ex-Buhari Official Over Attacks On Tinubu”
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has criticized a former official in the Muhammadu Buhari administration for attacking President Bola Tinubu’s government over insecurity.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Thursday during a special prayer session at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi to mark the state’s 34th anniversary, Idris said the individual lacked the moral standing to fault the current administration. He noted that security challenges in Nigeria long predate Tinubu’s presidency and stressed that the Federal Government had been responsive whenever Kebbi faced threats.
“When security issues arose in southern Kebbi, I contacted the Chief of Defence Staff, who immediately deployed 10 Armoured Personnel Carriers to the affected areas. This shows the commitment of the current administration,” the governor stated.
Idris further queried why the former official, who held a key position during Buhari’s tenure when insecurity intensified in Kebbi, failed to act decisively at the time. “When he had the opportunity, what did he do?” Idris asked.
The governor warned that his administration would not allow politics to undermine security efforts. He pledged continued financial and logistical backing for security agencies, adding that while some states had scaled back support due to rising costs, Kebbi would maintain its commitments.
