From Old Taker to New Taker: Senator Saliu Mustapha Shines In Kwara Politics
From Old Taker to New Taker: Senator Saliu Mustapha Shines In Kwara Politics....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In every cycle of politics, there comes a man whose presence electrifies the environment, commands attention, and leaves indelible marks. In Kwara today, that man is Distinguished Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin. He is not just the “New Taker” — he has been in the game for over three decades, and his mastery of grassroots politics has made him both the Old Taker and the New Taker rolled into one.
For those who may not understand, in local parlance, a New Taker is the reigning force, the man whose works speak louder than propaganda. Saliu Mustapha fits this definition perfectly. His political trajectory is built on a rare blend of elite connection and deep grassroots appeal, making him a bridge between the powerful and the ordinary.
For over 20 years, his empowerment schemes have spoken volumes. He has sponsored thousands of students through tertiary institutions — from first year to graduation — with full scholarships, often extending support to cover accommodation. His vision is clear: no Kwara indigene should be denied education because of financial constraints.
Beyond education, his empowerment projects are legendary. From heavy-duty tractors for farmers, Sienna buses for transporters, industrial machines for cassava and agro-processing, to Keke NAPEP for artisans and traders — the sheer scale is unprecedented. No lawmaker in recent memory has matched this level of grassroots investment.
Today, Kwara reverberates with his name, not by chance, but by consistent delivery. He is the people’s hero, a man who rose from within them, and continues to stand tall for them. Senator Saliu Mustapha is not just trending, he is defining what it means to lead differently. He is the New Taker, the Old Taker, and ultimately, the Future Taker of Kwara politics.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
