The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), through its spokesman A. S. Akinlabi, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday. The new rates will apply solely to passport applications submitted within Nigeria.
Under the revised structure, a 32-page passport booklet with five-year validity will cost ₦100,000, while a 64-page booklet with 10-year validity will now be priced at ₦200,000. Akinlabi explained that the adjustment is designed to protect the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
He further clarified that the changes do not affect passport fees for Nigerians in the diaspora, which remain at $150 for the 32-page booklet with five-year validity and $230 for the 64-page booklet with 10-year validity.
The Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring that passport services remain both accessible and efficient.
