According to Nivo News, Nigerian basketball star Ezinne Kalu has completed a move to Chinese Women’s Basketball Association (WCBA) club Wuhan Shengfan. Kalu, 33, has been central to Nigeria’s sustained dominance in African women’s basketball. She played a pivotal role on August 3, 2025, as D’Tigress captured their fifth consecutive AfroBasket title in Ivory Coast — the team’s seventh overall — a victory that also secured Nigeria a place at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Her professional career has spanned multiple countries, with previous stints at Landerneau in France, Stars in Germany, Vasas Akademia in Hungary, Roma in Italy, Portuguese clubs Olivais and Clube Desportivo Torres Novas, Dynamo Kursk in Russia, Kayseri in Turkey, and most recently Zhejiang in China.

Kalu’s individual excellence has also drawn international recognition. She was named Most Valuable Player at the 2019 AfroBasket in Senegal and was selected for the Eurobasket.com Italian Serie A1 All-Imports Team in 2024. Beyond her club career, she was part of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, helping D’Tigress reach the quarter-final stage.
