The Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, August 27, 2025, a work-free day to commemorate the state’s 34th anniversary. In a statement issued by the Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri, Governor Umar Namadi’s administration congratulated the people of Jigawa on this milestone and called on residents to take part in anniversary events scheduled across the state. The government explained that the public holiday is intended to give citizens ample opportunity to join communal prayers, cultural activities, and statewide festivities without workplace distractions.
Dagaceri urged residents to use the day to reflect on Jigawa’s progress, appreciate its peaceful coexistence, and offer prayers for continued growth and prosperity. He further encouraged the people to recognise the strides made since the state’s creation and to commit to building an even brighter future.
Authorities emphasised that the holiday underscores Jigawa’s dedication to preserving its heritage, fostering unity, and promoting community spirit as it enters its 35th year.
