Ikorodu City have confirmed the acquisition of Liberian international goalkeeper Derrick Julu from Watanga FC on a two-year contract. The fast-rising side, popularly known as the Oga Boys, unveiled their new shot-stopper with enthusiasm, stating, “We’re excited to sign Liberian national team goalie Derrick Julu from two-time Liberian First Division champions Watanga FC on a two-year deal.” Julu joins the growing list of foreign players in the NPFL and will compete for the club’s first-choice goalkeeping position. Ikorodu City are scheduled to begin their campaign with a challenging opener against Kwara United.
Defending champions Remo Stars have also strengthened their squad with the signing of Liberian winger Mark Gibson Theo on a two-year deal. The skillful attacker, who previously featured for Rivers United, joins new Malian recruits Chaka Coulibaly and Adama Goita as the Sky Blue Stars continue their aggressive transfer business under coach Daniel Ogunmodede.
At Plateau United, Technical Adviser Oluwasola Adegun reaffirmed his focus on nurturing young talents while building team cohesion. “We’re investing in young players, full of optimism and ready for the season ahead. We’re not only building a good squad on the pitch but also off the pitch to win the trust of our supporters,” Adegun told Nivo News. The Peace Boys will open their season away to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.
Meanwhile, Katsina United have opted for a massive rebuild, signing 12 new players after a successful round of trials. Club chairman Surajo Umar Dalibi has called on the fresh recruits to remain disciplined and fully committed as they prepare to host Warri Wolves in their first match of the campaign.
