According to the DSCA’s statement, major U.S. defense contractors — Lockheed Martin, RTX Missiles and Defense, and BAE Systems — have been designated to execute the proposed transaction. The package includes an extensive range of advanced weaponry:

  • 1,002 MK-82 general-purpose 500 lb bombs

  • 1,002 MXU-650 Air Foil Groups for 500 lb Paveway II GBU-12

  • 515 MXU-1006 Air Foil Groups for 250 lb Paveway II GBU-58

  • 1,517 MAU-169 or MAU-209 computer control groups for Paveway II GBU-12/GBU-58

  • 1,002 FMU-152 joint programmable fuzes

  • 5,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II (APKWS II) rounds, including WGU-59/B guidance sections, high-explosive warheads, and MK66-4 rocket motors.

The agreement also covers non-major defense components such as FMU-139 programmable fuzes, bomb parts, impulse cartridges, high-explosive and practice rockets, integration support, test equipment, and technical assistance from both U.S. government and contractor personnel.

DSCA emphasized that the sale aligns with Washington’s strategy of reinforcing a key African security partner and will not compromise U.S. defense readiness. The agency also clarified that there are no offset obligations attached to the deal and no additional American personnel will be stationed in Nigeria as part of its implementation.

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and the AAC presidential candidate, has identified the widespread ignorance among Nigerians as his most significant hurdle heading into the 2027 election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Ignorance as the Main Opponent: When asked to name his primary political rival, Sowore explicitly pointed to ignorance as his greatest obstacle.

  • Systemic Educational Failure: He attributed this issue to a weakened national education system, which he believes hinders citizens from developing the critical thinking skills necessary to engage deeply with national issues.

  • The Role of Informed Decisions: While he dismissed the idea that money is the ultimate deciding factor in elections, he acknowledged that poverty and a lack of political awareness prevent many voters from consistently making informed choices.

  • The Impact of Social Media: Sowore criticized social media for elevating uninformed opinions and giving them undue popularity, arguing that better educational awareness would stop such ideas from dominating public discourse.

This interview was conducted prior to his current detention at the Kuje Correctional Centre, with clips subsequently shared on his official Facebook page.

THE END OF NDC? Confidential Court Judgment On De-registration Goes Public!.

Published

on

The Federal High Court in Lokoja has nullified its own judgment from December 10, 2025, which had previously directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). In a ruling delivered last Friday by Justice Isa H. Dashen, the court granted an application filed by the Peace Movement Party (PMP) to set aside the earlier decision.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Key Details of the Court’s Ruling:

  • Basis for Nullification: The court determined that the original proceedings were constitutionally defective because the PMP—which claimed prior interest in the “two-finger victory” logo used by the NDC—was not joined as a party to the initial lawsuit.

  • Denial of Fair Hearing: The presiding judge held that failing to hear the PMP, whose substantial and legally recognizable interests were directly affected by the orders made, constituted a breach of fair hearing.

  • Legal Authority: The court clarified that this action was not an appeal of its own merits, but an exercise of its inherent jurisdiction to set aside a judgment obtained in violation of the constitutional right to be heard (audi alteram partem).

  • Procedural Outcome: With the December 10, 2025, judgment set aside, the case (Suit No. FHC/LKI/CS/49/2025) has been returned to its pre-judgment stage, allowing parties to pursue further procedural steps.
