“Tinubu’s Insider Slams Babachir Lawal: ‘Your Arrogance Is Not New’”

on

The presidency has responded sharply to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, following his recent comments suggesting he would not have survived in President Bola Tinubu’s administration. During an interview on Channels Television, Lawal claimed that, had he been part of the current government, he might have been dismissed, killed, or forced to resign. He further accused the administration of nepotism and criticized its policies for creating hardships for Nigerians.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In reaction, Sunday Dare, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, stated on that Lawal’s arrogance is a recurring trait. Dare recalled Lawal’s response to his dismissal as SGF in 2017, highlighting his pride and public questioning of presidential authority. He noted that whether under President Tinubu, former President Buhari, or any other leader, Lawal’s overinflated sense of self-importance would have inevitably led to his exit.

Dare added, “Your arrogance is not new. In 2017, upon your sack as SGF, you scoffed, ‘Who is the Presidency?’ implying no one could remove you. Such hubris then mirrors the same today. Televised monologues like these do not make you relevant; they only remind Nigerians why you no longer hold office and why your influence is fading. It is not too late to retrace your steps.”
