In a statement issued on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio hailed the team’s outstanding performance, describing it as a testament to the exceptional talent, determination, and pioneering spirit of Nigerian women across all fields.

Highlighting recent victories in women’s sports, the Senate President noted that in less than two weeks, Nigerian women have dominated the African sporting scene—first with the Super Falcons’ inspiring performance, followed by D’Tigress’ emphatic wins over Senegal in the semifinals and Mali in the final.

He praised D’Tigress for embodying Nigeria’s core values of discipline, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, even in the face of adversity.
