Media Overhaul Begins: Sani Installs Fresh Leadership at Kaduna Media Corporation
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has appointed Ben Kure as the new Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), following the promotion of the former MD, Ahmed Maiyaki, to the role of Commissioner for Information.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
Described as a seasoned communications professional and political strategist, Kure is expected to build upon what Governor Sani called the “excellent foundation” laid by Maiyaki, which has transformed KSMC into a key vehicle for effective government information dissemination and public engagement.
“Mr. Ben Kure is a public communication expert and political strategist, bringing a wealth of experience from public service, banking, and media to this new role,” the statement read.
Kure has held several prominent roles in both government and the private sector. He previously served as Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area (2016–2017), Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (2018–2019), and Special Adviser on Political Matters to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai (2019–2021), where he played a vital role in grassroots mobilisation and political communication.
In the banking sector, Kure’s career includes leadership roles at Oceanic Bank/Ecobank (2010–2012), Zenith Bank (2005–2006), and Broad Bank (2003–2004), where he worked in public sector finance and branch management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Planning and a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace, and Strategic Studies. He is also a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants.
Governor Sani congratulated Kure on what he described as a “well-deserved” appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to enhance the state’s media communication framework.
“I believe Mr. Ben Kure will bring his wealth of experience and in-depth understanding of public engagement to deepen the progress made in our media operations,” the governor said. “KSMC must continue to serve as the credible voice of the government and a vital link with the people.”
The governor also prayed for divine guidance and success for the new MD in his new role.
Kure’s appointment comes at a time when the state government is intensifying efforts to improve transparency, civic inclusion, and effective communication with the public.

Taking over leadership at the JAMB headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, Aina succeeds Professor Ishaq Oloyede, whose 10-year, two-term tenure concluded on July 31, 2026. Initially approved by President Bola Tinubu on May 21 when Aina was 39, this appointment marks him as the youngest individual ever to lead the examination body.
When the appointment was first announced, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, highlighted Aina’s deep background in digital infrastructure, public-sector reforms, and national examination systems, noting his historic milestone as one of Nigeria’s youngest computer engineering professors.
In his inaugural address, Aina acknowledged the foundation laid by his predecessor—who is widely credited with modernizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)—and vowed to expand on those achievements. Emphasizing a strong stance against malpractice, he warned wrongdoers that their illicit activities have no place at JAMB, promising to ramp up modern technological investments and deepen partnerships with security agencies to safeguard the integrity of the admissions process.
