From Reformist to Critic: Lukman Declares APC Worse Than Its Rival”
Former National Vice Chairman (Northwest) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has described the ruling party as “damaged,” asserting that it is now in a worse condition than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
During an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Lukman blamed the deterioration of the APC on past leaders, accusing them of betraying the confidence Nigerians once had in them.
“We invested complete trust in the leaders of the APC, but they ended up betraying that trust. Today, the party is broken and even worse than the PDP,” he stated.
ADC Offers a New Path
Lukman, who recently joined the coalition-driven African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the new political platform aims to avoid the errors that plagued the APC.
He explained that the ADC is committed to ensuring elected officials remain accountable and fulfill their campaign promises if the party succeeds in producing Nigeria’s next president in 2027.
“The ADC is a platform for genuine political engagement. We must not leave leaders unmonitored, assuming they’ll always do the right thing. That’s a major error we made before,” Lukman remarked.
He added that the coalition is intentionally designed to keep leaders accountable to the party, with a focus on governance aligned with the party’s manifesto and commitments to the electorate.
“Should we win power, especially the presidency, the party will take full responsibility for guiding elected officials and ensuring they deliver on the promises made during the campaign,” he concluded.
