Southeast Killings: Igbokwe Calls Out Fabricated Stories, Demands Justice
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ridiculed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) recent claim of having the political machinery to unseat the ruling party in 2027, dismissing it as nothing more than a “delusional fantasy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement issued on Thursday by the APC’s Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the party described the PDP’s boast of being the only viable alternative as a desperate attempt to mask its internal decay and political irrelevance.
“PDP’s claim of having the structure and strength to defeat the APC is not only laughable but also completely out of touch with the current political reality in Nigeria,” Oladejo stated.
He questioned the basis of the PDP’s confidence, citing the party’s longstanding internal crises and a series of electoral defeats since 2015.
“What structure are they talking about? The same fragmented, conflict-ridden party that has failed to hold itself together for nearly a decade? Or the supposed strength that has led to waves of defections and persistent internal discord?” he asked.
Oladejo further accused the PDP of shirking responsibility for the damage it caused during its 16 years in power, which, he said, left Nigeria economically fragile, underdeveloped, and institutionally hollowed out.
He asserted that the PDP’s legacy is one of “corruption, impunity, and wasted opportunities,” a legacy Nigerians have repeatedly rejected at the polls.
Turning to the APC’s track record, Oladejo said the party continues to enjoy national acceptance, owing to its progressive policies and commitment to development that puts people first.
“From Lagos to Borno, Rivers to Kano, the APC continues to earn the trust of Nigerians through tangible, people-centered governance,” he added.
He described the 2023 elections as a resounding vote of confidence in the APC’s national appeal and grassroots strength, emphasizing that the Tinubu administration has since delivered measurable progress in economic reforms, digital innovation, and national security.
“If the PDP thinks it can replace competent leadership with media noise and internal wishful thinking, it has clearly learned nothing from its past political embarrassments,” he said.
Oladejo concluded by emphasizing the need for a credible opposition—one built on fresh ideas and genuine renewal, not recycled failures and outdated rhetoric.
“As we approach 2027, the APC will once again present Nigerians with a record of real achievements, unity of purpose, and a vision for the future—not empty slogans or the tired faces of the past,” he said.
