Everyone Was Getting Married But Me” – M.I. Abaga Reveals Emotional Struggle with Loneliness

Renowned Nigerian rapper, M.I. Abaga, has opened up about the emotional challenges he faced being unmarried at 37, while many of his friends were already raising families.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a candid interview on the Jay On Air Podcast, M.I. revealed that he once felt regretful for not settling down earlier, especially as some of his peers who tied the knot in their mid-to-late twenties are now parents to teenagers.

The “Bad Belle” rapper explained that his perspective shifted when he met his now-wife just before turning 40, shortly after ending a previous relationship. According to him, the experience taught him that every individual follows a unique life path, and being emotionally ready is crucial for a lasting relationship.

“I felt a little bad being unmarried at 37 because some of my friends who got married at 25 or 26 now have 14-year-old children. Some have kids heading off to college. Even my brother Jesse has a 21-year-old child, and I don’t have any of my own yet, so sometimes I feel like I’ve missed out on that phase,” he said.

“But I have no regrets, because I met the amazing woman I’m now married to. Looking back, I see it as divine timing. When you’re not ready, you’re simply not ready. Everyone has their own timeline — something many people overlook today.”

He recalled that he met his wife shortly before his 40th birthday and proposed when he felt truly prepared. They eventually got married when he turned 41.

Reflecting on his past relationships, M.I. admitted to personal shortcomings, expressing gratitude for the supportive women he had dated and acknowledging that his own immaturity and stubbornness had caused those relationships to fail.

“It makes me sad when I think about how I behaved in some of my previous relationships. I was lucky to meet some incredibly kind women who supported me, but I just wasn’t mature at the time. I was too stubborn,” he added.
