The quartet played crucial roles in Nigeria’s historic triumph, helping the team secure a record-extending 10th WAFCON title after an epic 3-2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco in the final on Saturday, July 26.
The Team of the Tournament, unveiled by the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Technical Study Group, honours the standout performers from across all participating nations in the just-concluded championship.
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was a standout presence throughout the tournament, recording four clean sheets in six games and conceding just twice — both goals coming in the tense final. Her consistent brilliance and commanding leadership earned her the award for Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
On the right side of defence, Michelle Alozie impressed with her tireless work rate and tactical intelligence. The Houston Dash full-back featured in five of Nigeria’s six matches, providing both defensive stability and attacking support, which earned her recognition as the competition’s top right-back.
