In a statement on Thursday, Eze said the massive crowd that welcomed Amaechi back to Port Harcourt on Wednesday was a bold signal that the next general election would produce a new government, especially in Rivers State.

According to him, Amaechi’s defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is both historic and strategic, driven by a genuine commitment to national development.

“For Amaechi to leave the APC—a party he helped midwife and nurture into prominence—is a clear indication that he is on a mission to rescue Rivers State from undemocratic forces that have reduced it to a laughing stock among democratic societies,” Eze stated.

He noted that the overwhelming reception Amaechi received underscores the growing acceptance of the ADC as the platform to form the next government in Rivers State in 2027.

“Without mincing words, that crowd proved Amaechi’s enduring popularity. It is a testament to his passion for the development and emancipation of the State and its people,” Eze added.
