Reports indicate that the early-morning meeting brought together Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru at Wike’s office in the nation’s capital.
Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, confirmed the development in a Facebook post, writing:
“Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago.”
The meeting comes just weeks after Wike received the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, at his Abuja residence. Abure later clarified that his visit was private, noting that he was free to meet any public officeholder.
Meanwhile, former Southeast spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Josef Onoh, has refuted allegations of land racketeering and favoritism levelled against the FCT Minister.
In a statement, Onoh described the accusations as politically motivated attempts to undermine Wike’s developmental agenda in the nation’s capital. He stressed that under Nigerian law, every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
Citing the Land Use Act of 1978, Onoh explained that the FCT Minister exercises delegated authority from the President to manage land in the territory.
“Minister Wike’s decisions have been made in accordance with the Abuja Master Plan and urban development goals,” Onoh said.
He added that major land allocations were targeted at infrastructure expansion and affordable housing projects, not personal enrichment. Addressing rumours of land allocations to Wike’s relatives, Onoh said the Minister had categorically denied such claims, including those suggesting involvement of his sons
