Trouble Returns: Nollywood Star Jerry Williams Arrested Months After Seeking Help
He was said to have been picked up from his residence in Delta State on the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025, and taken to Benin, Edo State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The arrest was allegedly facilitated by Nwafor Franklin, widely known as Izutech.
Actor Stanley Ontop raised the alarm in a video posted on social media, claiming Jerry was forcefully taken away and expressing concern for his safety. He further accused Izutech of being indebted to the tune of ₦2.5 million, money allegedly collected from producers eager to feature Jerry in upcoming film projects.
Stanley’s post read in part:
“Izu went to Jerry Williams’ house in the early hours of today, 21st July 2025, and bundled him to Benin with the help of some Nigeria police. Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu’s custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible.”
This development comes only months after Jerry Williams made a return to Nollywood following a rehabilitation period for substance abuse.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday granted bail to activist Scott Iguma, who is standing trial for allegedly sharing a false video and issuing threats to life.
The court set bail at ₦10 million, with Justice Friday Oghazi ruling that Iguma must produce one surety of equal bail value. The surety must either own property within the court’s jurisdiction or be a civil servant of at least Grade Level 12 in the Federal or Lagos State Government.
