Countdown Begins! PDP’s 101st NEC Meeting Poised to Redefine 2027 Strategy

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the timetable for its 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, slated to hold from Wednesday, July 23, to Friday, July 25, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and shared via the party’s official (formerly Twitter) handle, the NEC members were formally reminded of the previously scheduled meeting.

“Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party are hereby reminded of the scheduled 101st NEC meeting earlier summoned to hold as follows: Wednesday, 23rd; Thursday, 24th; and Friday, 25th July, 2025,” the statement read.

The communiqué cited Section 31(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), which defines those eligible to attend NEC meetings.

Eligible participants include:

  • The national chairman;

  • Serving and former presidents and vice presidents who are party members;

  • The chairman and secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT) as well as all BoT members;

  • Principal officers of the Senate who are members of the party, alongside up to 18 serving senators;

  • Principal officers of the House of Representatives who are party members, along with up to 24 serving House members;

  • All state governors who belong to the party;

  • All national officers (NWC members) and their deputies; and all state party chairmen.

The NEC list also covers six ex-officio members, all former NWC members who remain in the party, former National Assembly principal officers produced by the PDP who are still members, and former governors elected on the PDP platform who remain active in the party.

The three-day meeting is expected to be a major gathering of the party’s top hierarchy as they deliberate on crucial issues shaping the PDP’s future direction.
