Illegal Admissions Unmasked: JAMB Fingers 20 Universities and Polytechnics in Nationwide Probe

According to the board, these admissions were never processed through its Central Admission Processing System (CAPS)—the official platform designed to ensure merit‑based, transparent, and accountable admission procedures.
CAPS was created to allow candidates to track their admission status, prevent backdoor entries, and curb manipulation in the admission process.
JAMB’s breakdown shows that Kano State University of Science and Technology topped the list with 2,215 unauthorised admissions, followed by Ladoke Akintola University of Technology with 1,215, Gombe State University with 1,164, and Emmanuel Alayande University of Education with 761.

JAMB reiterated that any admission offered outside CAPS is illegal, warning that candidates who accept such offers risk being barred from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
