The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) confirmed the temporary suspension of its recruitment portal, explaining that the pause is aimed at boosting system capacity and ensuring a smooth exercise.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the Board’s Secretary, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), the recruitment portal will be reopened on Monday, July 21, 2025, once the ongoing upgrade is completed.
“This step will enable the portal to handle the heavy influx of applications and guarantee a transparent, seamless, and merit‑driven recruitment process,” Jibril stated.
He explained that the temporary shutdown became necessary after the portal was overwhelmed by the surge in applications since the exercise began on June 30, 2025.
Suspension Covers All Agencies
The suspension applies to all four paramilitary agencies under the CDCFIB – the NSCDC, NIS, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.
Jibril urged applicants to remain calm, monitor official updates, and be ready to complete their applications once the portal goes live again.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and patriotism shown by young Nigerians who wish to serve in these vital agencies,” he said, assuring that the process will remain fair, transparent, and strictly based on merit.
This marks the second adjustment to the recruitment schedule. Initially, the exercise was slated to commence on June 26, 2025, before being shifted to July 14, 2025. Now, with the latest changes, the portal is expected to reopen on July 21, 2025.
The CDCFIB also cautioned prospective candidates to disregard unofficial information and rely solely on accredited channels for authentic updates.
