Defection Bombshell? Not So Fast! APC Dismisses Adeleke Report as Demonic Falsehood”
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly denied rumours suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke has defected to the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the APC urged the public to disregard what it described as baseless speculation. Olabisi accused Adeleke’s administration of deliberately circulating false narratives about his supposed move to the APC.
He emphasized that there has never been any pressure from the Presidency on the Osun governor to join the APC, contrary to claims being peddled by members of Adeleke’s camp.
“We wish to make it absolutely clear that the rumour of Governor Adeleke’s defection to our party is nothing but a blatant lie from the pit of hell, concocted by the governor and his associates. There is no such move being made or considered at any level of our party,” the statement read.
Olabisi stressed that any talk of defection must adhere to established constitutional protocols and added that no formal discussions had occurred. He assured APC members and supporters that the party remains united and unshaken by the rumours.
The APC further pointed out that the enthusiasm of some of Adeleke’s allies over the idea of him joining the party remains pure speculation.
“It is laughable to suggest that a sitting governor could join our party without the knowledge or consent of key stakeholders such as our National Chairman, Mr. Ali Dalori, Chief Bisi Akande, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola (Minister of Marine and Blue Economy), State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, and other prominent party leaders,” the statement continued.
“It is ironic that the same individuals who previously ridiculed our party and stormed the Bola Ige House uninvited now appear eager to portray the APC as a desirable political destination. Our party, despite persistent criticism, remains the most formidable opposition platform in Osun State.”

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
