Lagos LG Polls: Obasa Applauds Voter Conduct, Urges Continued Civic Participation
On Saturday, during the ongoing local government elections, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, cast his vote at Polling Unit 019, Ward E, located on Oluwole Olaniyan Street, Orile Agege.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Obasa arrived early to a serene and well-organized environment. He exchanged pleasantries with constituents and briefly interacted with electoral officials before casting his ballot.
Speaking with journalists shortly afterward, the Speaker expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise.
“So far, the process has been peaceful, with no incidents of violence or disruption. It’s uplifting to witness citizens coming out to exercise their democratic rights,” he remarked.
Obasa praised the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for what he described as a transparent and efficiently managed process.
He also encouraged eligible voters who were yet to cast their ballots to actively participate.
“Participating in elections is both a right and a civic responsibility. I urge everyone to be part of shaping the future of their communities,” he said.
The Speaker expressed confidence that the outcome of the polls would truly reflect the will of the people, emphasizing the importance of maintaining transparency through the collation and announcement stages.
“Democracy thrives when people have faith in the process. I am optimistic that the results will mirror the genuine choices of the electorate,” he concluded.
