I’m Not Leaving PDP!” — Agboola Ajayi Breaks Silence on Alleged ADC Defection

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday in Akure, Ajayi and eight other prominent PDP leaders in the state described the reports as “baseless and misleading.”
“As leaders of the PDP in Ondo State, we find it necessary to provide clarity, encouragement, and assurance to our loyal supporters who have stood by the party through all seasons,” the statement noted.
The clarification comes in response to recent media reports linking Ajayi to ongoing opposition realignment efforts and coalition discussions among national political figures.
Signed by key PDP stakeholders, including National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and two members of the Board of Trustees, the statement stressed that the PDP—at both the national and state levels—has not entered into any alliance or coalition with other political parties or interest groups.
“At no point has the PDP, either at the national or state level, initiated or engaged in any coalition talks with any party or group,” the statement read.
The leaders affirmed that the PDP’s political structure in Ondo State remains solid and fully operational across all 203 wards and 18 local government areas.
They reiterated that the PDP is more than a party—it is a symbol of hope, democracy, and credible governance.
Party members who may have been influenced by recent political speculations were urged to remain committed, as the PDP’s enduring strength lies not in fleeting alliances but in steadfast loyalty and unity.
Other signatories include Senator Bode Olajumoke, Eddy Olafeso, Clement Faboyede, Olajide Oguntodu, Ladi Omotehinse, Bakkita Bello, and Oluseye Olujimi.
