According to ”NIVONEWS”,troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully cleared several bandit hideouts in Taraba State, recovering five operational motorcycles allegedly used by the criminals.
In a statement issued by Captain Oni Olubodunde, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for 6 Brigade, the raid was carried out on July 5, 2025, in remote parts of southern Wukari Local Government Area—a known operational zone of the notorious bandit leader Liamdoo Douglas Adekpe, popularly known as Bajor.
The operation, according to NIVONEWS, was based on actionable intelligence indicating that Bajor had convened a meeting at the location. However, the criminals fled the scene upon sensing the troops’ approach, abandoning several valuable items.
In Plateau State, troops of the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) arrested a suspected militia operative during a nighttime ambush along the Kafi Abu–Rakwok Road in Gashish District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
Major Samson Zhakom, spokesperson for OPSH, told NIVONEWS that the suspect was apprehended while allegedly lying in wait to attack innocent commuters. An AK-47 rifle and 30 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were seized from him.
The suspect remains in OPSH custody as further operations are underway to apprehend his accomplices. Zhakom called on the public to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing efforts to secure the region.
