Wike’s Ultimate Challenge: ‘I’m Waiting for You in Rivers State, Amaechi—Are You Ready?’
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has challenged former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to back his calls for a national uprising by leading the movement from Rivers State, together with his children.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Wike made this challenge on Friday in response to Amaechi’s remarks on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where the ex-governor urged Nigerians to rise against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
While commissioning the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace on Radio Nigeria’s New Market Road in Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, Wike directly addressed Amaechi, questioning his seriousness about the revolution he promotes.
He stated, “Back in 2015, when I wasn’t yet a governor, I stood firm against powerful interests trying to impose successors. I defeated a very influential governor’s candidate then.
“In 2019, a top minister, who was borrowing heavily from Chinese banks and driving us deeper into debt, served as the President’s campaign DG but managed less than 20% support for the President. I defeated him too.
“Now, some people are calling for Nigerians to rise up. To the man making these calls, I say this: Lead the charge yourself.
“You who are inciting Nigerians to revolt—I’m waiting for you in Rivers State. Start there and lead with your children.
“It’s not acceptable for your children to be safe in London while you urge others to take to the streets.
“If you can come here with your children, we’ll face off—then we’ll know if you truly mean what you say.”
