In a statement released on Friday, the Commission confirmed that all services affected by the temporary maintenance have been fully restored, offering relief to banks, telecom providers, and government agencies that depend on real-time NIN verification for their operations.
During the maintenance period, operations across financial institutions, telecommunications companies, and public sector agencies experienced disruptions, leading to delays in customer onboarding and identity verification processes.
“Following the completion of the technical maintenance, NIMC is pleased to inform the public that all services have been successfully restored,” the statement read.
The Commission advised Nigerians seeking to enrol for a NIN or update their records—such as name corrections or changes to personal information—to visit its website for a list of accredited enrolment centres.
It further encouraged citizens to use its self-service portal for swift data modifications and to download the NIMC NameAuth App, available on both Google Play and Apple App Store, for seamless NIN verification and authentication.
Appreciating the public’s patience throughout the maintenance window, NIMC reassured Nigerians of its dedication to delivering secure and efficient identity management services.
“We thank the public for their understanding and cooperation during the downtime,” the agency added.
