FG Endorses Akwa Ibom as Emerging Innovation Powerhouse with Start-up Certification

The Federal Government has formally recognised Start Innovation Hub (SIH) as a strategic partner in grassroots technology training, awarding the company a certificate of partnership for its exceptional contribution to the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) issued the certificate following the successful completion of Cohort 2 of the 3MTT programme by SIH. The programme, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, is a flagship of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at producing two million digital jobs by 2025.

SIH has already completed Cohort 3, further cementing its position as a key player in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.

The certificate—jointly signed by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi—described SIH as a “lighthouse of opportunity” for delivering impactful technology training to underserved communities.

“In honour of your exceptional service as a 3MTT Learning Partner for Cohort 2. Your centre has been a lighthouse of opportunity, helping us bring tech training to the grassroots. Our impact travels through you,” the citation read.

In a separate commendation letter, NITDA praised SIH for its unwavering commitment to equipping Nigerians with essential digital skills needed to thrive in both local and global tech ecosystems.

“We are thrilled to share your Certificate of Partnership – a heartfelt token of our deep appreciation for your unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to the 3MTT programme.
Your efforts have played a crucial role in preparing millions of Nigerians for success in today’s fast-evolving digital world,” the letter stated.

NITDA also announced that SIH will be featured in a forthcoming national visibility campaign, highlighting standout partners whose contributions have been critical to the programme’s success. The agency disclosed that a Partnership Plaque is also being prepared for delivery to SIH in recognition of its service.

“Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and commitment to the 3MTT vision. We are honoured to work alongside you and look forward to achieving even greater impact together,” NITDA added.

He added that the project is not only focused on land recovery but also on boosting agricultural output and improving livelihoods in affected communities.

According to him, the effort is already helping to reduce dependence on firewood while creating alternative sources of income for beneficiaries.

President Tinubu has given full backing for the implementation of the ₦68.32 trillion 2026 budget after signing the Appropriation Bill passed by the National Assembly into law.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.

Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.

The focus, according to the administration, is on infrastructure development, security, and growth-driven investments aimed at improving living standards.

Speaking on the development, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga said the extension of the 2025 budget will help ensure full use of allocated funds, especially for major ongoing projects.
