The Osahon Okunbo Foundation (TOOF) is broadening access to artistic development in Nigeria through a sponsored, hands-on training program in classical European painting techniques. Initially planned for just 10 painters, the Old Masters by Future Masters program has expanded to accommodate 20 participants, thanks to additional sponsorship from The Osahon Okunbo Foundation (TOOF), which is covering the cost for 10 more artists.

Jointly sponsored by the Legacy Arts Foundation and the Belgian Embassy, the prestigious two-week masterclass will take place in Lagos, culminating in two major exhibitions—one in Lagos and another at the Belgian Ambassador’s residence in Abuja. But for TOOF, the value of this collaboration goes beyond public visibility; it’s about driving lasting change.

“You can’t ask people to change the world without giving them the tools to shape it,” says Osahon Okunbo, founder of the foundation.
“That’s why we support programs like this. Because talent requires structure, imagination thrives on opportunity, and our artists deserve both.”

The program, developed by the Legacy Arts Foundation in partnership with the Belgian Embassy, is designed to foster cross-cultural exchange. It combines rigorous technical training in classical European painting with lectures from curators, gallerists, and critics. The entire initiative is also being documented by Eyes of a Lagos Boy.

“We’re not just investing in a single moment,” Okunbo added.
“We’re investing in future exhibitions, future careers, and future legacies. This is about multiplying possibility.”

Bwala spoke during an interview on Arise Television, where he addressed questions about the video and the current performance of the power sector under the Tinubu administration.

He said the president’s statement should be viewed within the context of his ongoing first term, stressing that it is too early to judge promises tied to a possible second term.

According to him, the administration has already begun implementing reforms in the power sector, including policy decisions and new legislative measures aimed at improving electricity supply.

He maintained that progress is ongoing and that the focus should be on what has been achieved so far rather than expectations for future electoral outcomes.

Bwala added that Nigerians will ultimately decide at the appropriate time whether the president deserves another term based on his overall performance.

“The president has not even come to the point of second term. We are still in the first term, and reforms are ongoing, including new laws and sectoral changes,” he said.

He further argued that the electorate will make their judgment when the time comes, based on the results delivered by the administration.
