No Light, No Life: Expert Demands Urgent Clean Energy Push for Nigeria’s Forgotten Villages!

Published

on

A financial and energy expert, Adedipupo Laoye, has called for a nationwide clean energy revolution that prioritizes underserved communities, especially rural dwellers and internally displaced persons (IDPs).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Laoye, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of VIDCAS Atmosafe Energy and Utilities Development Limited, is at the forefront of a bold campaign to eliminate energy poverty in some of Nigeria’s most neglected regions.

With over two decades of experience spanning oil and gas trading, logistics, and financial consulting, Laoye is leveraging his expertise to drive sustainable energy solutions through the rollout of modular LPG infrastructure across remote communities.

“Access to clean energy is more than a market opportunity — it’s a fundamental human right,” Laoye declared in a statement. He noted that millions of Nigerians, particularly in IDP camps and rural settlements, still depend on firewood and kerosene — both dangerous to health and harmful to the environment.

To close this energy gap, VIDCAS is deploying compact LPG refilling plants, mobile gas skids, and a dedicated fleet to tackle last-mile delivery challenges.

Beyond reducing carbon emissions, the initiative is also creating economic opportunities by empowering women and young people to enter the LPG distribution value chain as entrepreneurs.

The company isn’t stopping at infrastructure. VIDCAS is actively conducting grassroots awareness campaigns on LPG safety and is working to shift public perception and behaviour around traditional cooking fuels.

“We need to take the mystery out of clean energy — make it accessible, safe, and affordable for everyone,” Laoye urged.

Outside of his role at VIDCAS, Laoye is also the founder of XPAR8 Hedge International Energy Limited, which is revolutionising petroleum logistics in Nigeria. The company’s digital platform brings transparency to the sector by automating invoicing and offering real-time tracking of fuel deliveries — innovations Laoye says are critical to fixing inefficiencies in the nation’s disjointed fuel supply chain.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
