No Mercy for Murderers! Tinubu Orders Arrest of Plateau Killers After Shocking Bloodbath

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President directed security agencies to urgently apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the heinous act. “The President condemns the brutal killing of 12 wedding guests, including close family members of the groom, as they travelled from Zaria in Kaduna State to Jos, Plateau State. He has instructed the Nigerian Police Force to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice,” the statement read. President Tinubu emphasized that such acts of extreme violence have no place in society and must not go unpunished. He urged the Plateau State Government to take firm and proactive steps in addressing recurring violence in the region, and to use this case as a deterrent to prevent future incidents. “Freedom of movement is a fundamental right that cannot be compromised. No individual or group has the authority to violate that right through violence or intimidation,” the President stated. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Kaduna State, promising that the full weight of justice would be applied to ensure accountability.

He said his administration is committed to tackling poverty, promoting freedom, and strengthening democratic governance in Nigeria.
Speaking during a meeting with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu said he aims to offer a clear alternative to what he described as political “noise” from opposition groups.
The President also stressed the need for respect for the rule of law, separation of powers, and compliance with judicial decisions, even when rulings are unfavorable to certain interests.
He dismissed attempts to intimidate him ahead of the election, saying he is familiar with political tactics and remains unfazed by opposition moves.
According to him, “They want to scare me off? It’s a lie. I have been through this path before, and if I have to come back over and over again, I will do the same thing.”
Meanwhile, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his 2027 ambition, accusing him of ignoring zoning arrangements and pursuing personal political interests.
Onanuga warned that such actions could deepen divisions within opposition parties, while expressing confidence that Atiku would be defeated in the 2027 polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a revision of the campaign timetable for the 2026 Osun governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to a statement issued on Thursday by National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the new deadline for political campaigns in the state is midnight on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
INEC said the adjustment complies with Section 98(1) of the Electoral Act 2026, which requires that campaigns end 24 hours before election day.
The commission explained that the change follows a revised timetable for the 2027 general elections, which also shifted the Osun governorship poll from August 8, 2026, to August 15, 2026.
It urged all political parties, candidates, and stakeholders to strictly comply with the updated schedule.
The statement recalled that the commission had earlier released the revised timetable on February 26, 2026, which included the adjustment of the Osun election date.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting free, fair, credible, and inclusive elections across the country.
