Power Exit: NNPCL Communications Chief Soneye Resigns, Cites Family Commitment
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Olufemi Soneye, has officially stepped down from his position.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Soneye made the announcement on Saturday in a statement where he thanked his colleagues for their support throughout his 20-month tenure.
Describing his time at the company as an “honour,” Soneye said he was proud to have contributed to the ongoing transformation of the national oil giant.
He also pledged to remain a “dedicated supporter and ambassador” of NNPCL and urged media professionals to maintain their “robust, balanced, and constructive coverage” in alignment with the company’s mission.
“I wish to inform you that I have stepped aside from my role as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd. This decision will allow me to dedicate more time to my family and attend to personal responsibilities that now demand my closer attention,” he stated.
Reflecting on his service, Soneye added:
“It has been a profound honour to serve both the Company and our country, and to contribute in my own way to NNPC Ltd’s transformation. I am sincerely grateful for the trust placed in me, the opportunities I received, and the remarkable professionals I had the privilege of working with.”
He concluded with a call for continued journalistic support of NNPCL’s mission and values.
Soneye was appointed on October 18, 2023, taking over from Garba Muhammad, who had served in the role since a management reshuffle in August 2021.
