In a daring crackdown under Operation Delta Sanity II, the Nigerian Navy has dismantled a sprawling illegal oil refinery in Obotebe, Delta State. The operation, commanded by Commodore Abdulazeez Zubairu of NNS Delta, was executed on the orders of Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff.

Fourteen personnel, armed with two gunboats and a speedboat, navigated deep into the mangrove creeks to the precise coordinates of Lat 5.381734⁰N and Long 5.587105⁰E. Though no suspects were apprehended, the Navy confiscated vital equipment—among them a Yamaha 1.5hp engine, a generator, six pumps, and industrial-scale hoses.

To prevent the illicit refinery’s revival, the entire dump site was incinerated on the spot.

“This is a clear warning,” Commodore Zubairu declared. “The Nigerian Navy remains fully committed to crushing crude oil theft and environmental sabotage wherever it exists.”

Tinubu Never Begged Anyone To Join APC – Orji Kalu Reveals.

......KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu is pressuring governors and other politicians to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that political movement into the party is entirely voluntary.

Kalu made this known on Tuesday while speaking with journalists following the resumption of plenary after the Easter break. He urged political stakeholders to focus on strengthening democratic institutions and presenting credible policy alternatives rather than engaging in what he described as unnecessary criticism.

According to him, President Tinubu has not engaged in any form of persuasion or coercion to force politicians into the APC, stressing that individuals who choose to join the party do so on their own accord.

He explained that the APC operates on open terms for entrants, noting that negotiations only take place when politicians express interest in joining, and membership is not imposed on anyone.

Kalu also dismissed allegations that the Tinubu administration is influencing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 elections, describing such claims as unfounded and harmful to democratic progress.

He further criticised opposition narratives, particularly from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing them of undermining public confidence in the electoral system.

On concerns about marginalisation of the South-East, Kalu argued that successive administrations, including those of former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Tinubu, have made contributions to national development across all regions, including the South-East.

Victor Osimhen is set to return for Galatasaray in Wednesday’s Turkish Cup quarter-final against Gençlerbirliği at RAMS Park.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The striker has been sidelined for the club’s last four matches due to an arm injury but resumed full training on Monday, raising expectations of his comeback.

Although he was listed in the squad for last weekend’s league fixture against the same opponents, he did not feature and remained on the bench.

Turkish media reports suggest Osimhen may be eased back into action, with a possible appearance of around 15 to 20 minutes as he regains match fitness ahead of Sunday’s high-profile derby against Fenerbahçe.

Galatasaray, the defending Turkish Cup champions, have been in strong form in the competition, going unbeaten in their last 10 matches while scoring 24 goals and conceding eight.

A win would see them advance to the semi-finals, where they would face either Samsunspor or Trabzonspor.

The return of Osimhen comes at a crucial time for manager Okan Buruk, who has missed his leading striker since the injury suffered in the UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool in March.
